Once a case is filed it is scheduled and processed through a status conference that is conducted by a member of the court via telephone. Participating parties are required to be available by telephone one (1) hour before the scheduled conference. During the conference the court will review the case, establishing deadlines for the exchange of discovery, depositions, evaluations, and other outstanding legal issues. It is at this juncture that the case is either referred to arbitration, mediation or scheduled for a pre-trial conference. Complex legal cases may be re-scheduled for an additional status conference ensuring outstanding matters have been addressed by the court.
