Judge Abraham P. Kassis

Abraham P. Kassis was elected as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County on November 5, 2019 and sworn into office on January 6, 2020. Judge Kassis presides over civil and criminal trials and is assigned as an Associate Judge of Domestic Relations.

Judge Kassis is a 1985 graduate from Phillipsburg Catholic High School. He graduated from Hofstra University in 1989 with a B.A. in Biology. In 1993, he graduated and received his Juris Doctorate from the Northern Illinois University School of Law. Upon his graduation, he was admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, as well as in Federal Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Judge Kassis practiced as a sole practitioner in civil law for over 24 years. He also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Northampton County from 1999 until his election in 2019. His broad legal experience included jury trials and other civil, criminal and family law matters.

Judge Kassis has served as a member of the Northampton County Bar Association Board of Governors for several terms, including a one year term as President in 2015.
